Visit to the Clinique juridique de Saint-Michel

Last week in Montréal, Chief Justice Richard Wagner had the pleasure of speaking with volunteers from the Clinique juridique de Saint-Michel (CJSM).

The Chief Justice attended a presentation on the history of the legal clinic and spoke with those responsible for its legal consultation services. Members of the committee working on issues related to racial profiling also shared insights about their work and the realities experienced in the neighbourhood.

During the visit, the Chief Justice met with the Board of Directors, who presented ongoing projects and key issues related to access to justice. Participants also had the opportunity to ask him questions about his career, the role of the Supreme Court of Canada, and the challenges faced by the communities served by the CJSM.
