On Thursday, Chief Justice Richard Wagner participated in a conference organized by the Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice (CIAJ). During his remarks, the Chief Justice thanked conference participants for their work and shared a message of hope:

“The rule of law is not an abstract idea: it is brought to life by those who defend it every day. It relies on judges who deliver clear and accessible decisions; on lawyers who argue cases with courage and integrity; and on citizens who demand transparency, fairness and accountability. It is these individual commitments that, together, give strength and meaning to our democratic institutions.”

CIAJ is a multidisciplinary and bilingual legal network that promotes excellence through knowledge, learning and the exchange of ideas. Created in 1974 at the Osgoode Hall Law School of York University in Toronto, it brings together members of the legal community from across Canada.
