Ceremonial opening of the judicial year
October 7, 2025 · 150th anniversary
For the first time in almost 40 years, the Supreme Court of Canada held a ceremonial opening of the judicial year yesterday. Reviving this tradition was an opportunity for the Court and the legal community to come together to mark the beginning of the judicial year and reflect on the current issues facing our justice system. The judges and attendees signed a commemorative book to mark the occasion.
