The Supreme Court of Canada’s 150th anniversary legal symposium

Last night, the Right Honourable Richard Wagner, Chief Justice of Canada, had the pleasure of welcoming Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, to open the Supreme Court’s 150th anniversary legal symposium. They spoke to conference participants about the importance of the Court’s role in the evolution of Canada and thanked them for their commitment to our justice system.

This bilingual symposium gathers justices of the Supreme Court, judges from Canadian and international courts, academics and legal practitioners, students and journalists. The symposium marks the beginning of a conversation that looks at the role of apex courts, the resilience of justice systems around the world, and our shared commitment to upholding the rule of law.
